A Visit to Deriv in Malta -- No Office Found
Danger Malta

Reason for this visit

After joining the European Union in May 2004 and starting to use the euro on January 1, 2008, Malta's economy has gradually integrated with the euro area economy, eliminating exchange rate risks, reducing transaction costs, and creating a favorable environment for foreign investors. Malta is one of the EU countries least affected by the financial crisis due to its stricter financial regulation, fewer liquidity problems in its financial system, diversified investment tendencies, and its financial institutions’ investment in blue-chip stocks or bonds. Malta implements the free flow of foreign exchange. Foreign exchange can be bought and sold freely, and foreign capital can freely enter and leave Malta. Foreign-funded enterprises can freely open foreign currency accounts in banks and store foreign currency, and can also freely remit profits made in Malta without paying special taxes. In order to help investors have a more comprehensive understanding of foreign exchange dealers in Malta, the field survey team is going to the country for on-site visits.

On-site visit

This time the survey team went to Malta to visit the foreign exchange dealer Deriv as planned, and the survey address is Level 3, W Business Centre, Triq Dun Karm, Birkirkara, Malta.

According to the above address, the survey personnel came to Birkirkara, Malta, the destination of this survey. W Business Centre is a relatively simple office building with 5 floors. There is no receptionist on the ground floor, but there are doorbells and water signs for contact. The investigators found that the 3rd floor belonged to a company named EMPEROR AVIATION rather than the dealer Deriv.

The investigators rang the bell, and the staff working on the third floor said they had never heard of Deriv, and they did not share an office. The investigators thus confirmed that the dealer does not have an office there.

The investigators went to Malta to visit the foreign exchange dealer Deriv as planned, but did not find the dealer's office at its publicly displayed business address. The dealer may have just registered a company at this address without a real business venue. Please choose this dealer carefully.
