Axi Introduces New Function for MT5 Traders to Trade with Claude

Online brokerage Axi has introduced an artificial intelligence integration allowing eligible customers to execute trades through Anthropic's Claude assistant.
The new capability enables clients to connect their MetaTrader 5 trading accounts directly to Claude, allowing trading instructions to be submitted through ordinary conversations rather than conventional trading interfaces.
According to Axi, the integration uses Model Context Protocol, an open standard designed to connect artificial intelligence systems with external applications and financial services.
Although the technology remains in alpha testing, its introduction reflects growing competition among brokerage companies seeking to make artificial intelligence a more direct component of retail trading.
Through the integration, eligible Axi customers can instruct Claude to retrieve live market prices, open trading positions, modify existing orders and close positions.
The system also supports pending orders and adjustments to stop loss and take profit settings, enabling traders to manage several important account functions through conversational instructions.
The development represents a departure from traditional trading workflows, where investors typically navigate multiple screens and manually configure transactions.
However, Axi has emphasised that Claude is not an automated trading strategy or an independent financial adviser.
Clients using MetaTrader 4 exclusively or Axi's separate trading platform cannot currently access the integration.
Eligible users must configure the connection through Claude and authorise access using their Axi account credentials.
Despite the convenience, the technology introduces operational considerations involving permissions, execution accuracy and the interpretation of trading instructions.
A misunderstanding between an investor and an AI assistant could potentially result in an unintended order, particularly where automated permissions have been enabled.
