📊 Gold / FX / Oil / AI Stocks Weekly Outlook
Your Daily Trader Companion
Markets had a tougher week during Aug 17 – Aug 23 as rising long-term Treasury yields, higher oil prices and policy uncertainty weighed on risk sentiment.
🥇 Gold / XAUUSD
Gold reached a three-month high and traded near the $4,600 area as the U.S. dollar weakened and investors watched bond-market stress.
🛢️ Oil
WTI gained 6.9% and Brent rose 6.6% for the week as U.S.-Iran tensions and Strait of Hormuz supply-risk headlines supported energy prices.
💵 FX
EUR/USD stayed supported above 1.16 as the dollar traded near multi-month lows. USD/JPY remains sensitive to U.S. yields and Japan-related policy headlines.
📈 Indices
S&P 500 fell 1.4%, Nasdaq dropped 2.1%, and Dow lost 0.8% for the week as higher long-term borrowing costs pressured valuations.
🤖 AI Stocks / Semiconductors
The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell around 5% for the week. Nvidia earnings on Aug 26 may be a key test for the AI-driven market rally.

• Aug 26 — US GDP Q2 Second Estimate & Corporate Profits
• Aug 26 — US Personal Income & Outlays / PCE Inflation
• Aug 26 — US Durable Goods Orders
• Aug 26 — EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report
