U.S. Bancorp Completes BTIG Acquisition
Abstract:U.S. Bancorp has completed its acquisition of BTIG, adding the institutional broker-dealer’s investment banking, sales and trading, research, and prime brokerage capabilities to its capital markets business.

U.S. Bancorp has completed its acquisition of BTIG, LLC, with the transaction taking effect on June 1, 2026.
BTIG will continue to operate as a separate broker-dealer within U.S. Bancorp. The deal brings BTIG‘s institutional brokerage and capital markets businesses into the bank’s wider financial services structure.

BTIG to remain a separate broker-dealer
BTIG was founded in 2005 and focuses on investment banking, institutional sales and trading, research, and prime brokerage.
The firm has been active in high-touch equity trading and has participated in more than 1,350 announced investment banking transactions since 2015. After the acquisition, BTIG will remain a distinct broker-dealer while becoming part of U.S. Bancorps broader wealth, corporate, commercial, and institutional banking operations.
WikiFX profile shows regulated status
WikiFX data shows BTIG with an overall score of 7.60/10. The broker is listed as registered in the United States.
On the regulatory side, WikiFX shows two licence records connected to BTIG:
- FCA regulated — Derivatives Trading Licence
- ASIC regulated — Institutional Derivatives Trading Licence
These records show that BTIG has regulatory coverage in multiple jurisdictions, while its latest ownership change places the broker-dealer under U.S. Bancorps group structure.

Acquisition expands institutional coverage
The acquisition gives U.S. Bancorp a larger presence in institutional brokerage and capital markets services. BTIG‘s business lines, including institutional sales and trading, research, investment banking, and prime brokerage, are expected to complement the bank’s existing capital markets operations.
The immediate change is structural: BTIG is now part of U.S. Bancorp, but will continue operating as its own broker-dealer entity. For market participants following BTIG, the key points are its ownership change, continued broker-dealer status, and regulatory profile shown on WikiFX.
