DangerHong Kong

Purpose

The Hong Kong, China foreign exchange market is a mature offshore forex market that developed in the 1970s. As one of the world's important international financial centers, it features a sound regulatory system, free cross-border capital flows, and high market trading activity, and is one of the core hubs for forex trading in the Asia-Pacific region. To help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of forex dealers in the region, the on-site inspection team traveled to Hong Kong, China, for a field visit.

Process

The on-site inspection team for this issue went to Hong Kong, China as planned to visit the forex broker LYKOS. According to public information, its office address is Room2203, 22/F 299qrc, 287-299 Queen's Road, Central Hong Kong.

A professional and experienced on-site inspection team, with a sense of mission to strictly safeguard investors' interests, went to Hong Kong, China according to a meticulous plan. They successfully arrived at the target building, which is located in a core business area along Queen's Road, Central, Hong Kong, with dense commercial buildings nearby and a very strong commercial atmosphere. A complete panoramic view of the building was photographed from outside the building, and throughout the process, no company signage or related information bearing the words LYKOS was found.

After entering the first-floor lobby of the building, they stated their purpose to the security guard. After a brief communication and registration, they successfully obtained permission to enter.

After arriving at the target floor, the 22nd floor, the on-site inspection personnel checked the office areas across the entire floor area by area, but found no office area for LYKOS, nor did they see any obvious signage or related directions bearing the company's name. Because the security management requirements for the office area of the corresponding room on that floor are strict, entry into the interior was not possible without an advance appointment. Throughout the process, no reception desk or reception desk logo was photographed, and the premises were not a shared office space.

The entrance to the corresponding room was completely under closed control, making it impossible to observe the company's internal environment through the glass door or reception area, and impossible to obtain any information about the interior decoration style or employee activities. The overall situation was completely inconsistent with the broker's externally claimed business positioning.

After arriving, they confirmed that it was the stated address, but found no information about the broker. Upon asking the security guard, they were told that the company did not exist, so it was judged to be false. Therefore, after the on-site inspection, it was confirmed that broker LYKOS does not exist at the above address.

Conclusion

On-site inspectors went to Hong Kong, China as planned to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker LYKOS. At the business address it publicly displayed, they were unable to see the broker's company name or other information, indicating that the broker does not have a genuine business premises. Investors are advised to make their choice after comprehensive consideration.
