Reason for this visit

Recently, investors have called to ask for more exposure of Japanese licensees whose actual addresses are inconsistent with the regulatory addresses. Based on the feedback from investors and the work plan of the survey team, the survey team are going to visit Sony Bank, a licensed dealer in Japan, to learn more about the actual situation.

On-site visit

According to the regulatory information, the dealer Sony Bank is licensed by the Japanese regulator and located at 1-1-6 Uchisaiwaicho 2-chome, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. The survey team thus decided to have an on-site visit to this regulatory address for confirmation.

The office of the dealer Sony Bank was located in front of Hibiya Park in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. As a permit was required to enter the building, the surveyors could only take photos outside the building, not inside. Also, the surveyors failed to find the dealer's logo or other information. In other words, it was difficult to comfirm whether the dealer Sony Bank was working here. 

Conclusion

The survey team went to visit the dealer Sony Bank in Tokyo, Japan as planned. The dealer’s logo could not be found on the publicly displayed address, indicating that the dealer had a fake business place. Please be prudent when trading with this broker.
