📊 Gold / FX / Oil / AI Stocks Weekly Outlook
Your Daily Trader Companion
Markets were mixed during Aug 10 – Aug 16 as the S&P 500 reached another record close, Gold moved higher on weaker USD momentum, and Oil regained a geopolitical risk premium from Hormuz-related supply concerns.
🥇 Gold / XAUUSD
Gold traded near $4,380 and headed for a weekly gain as in-line inflation data supported expectations that the Fed may hold rates steady.
🛢️ Oil
Brent and WTI gained more than 5% last week as tanker-attack headlines and slower Strait of Hormuz traffic lifted supply-risk premiums.
💵 FX
The U.S. dollar stayed near monthly lows, supporting EUR/USD, while USD/JPY traded around 159 as traders scaled back Fed rate-hike expectations.
📈 Indices
The S&P 500 gained around 0.4%, Nasdaq edged up 0.1%, while Dow slipped 0.6%. Retail earnings and Fed minutes are the next key focus.
🤖 AI Stocks / Semiconductors
AI and technology names remain important sentiment drivers, with investors watching whether AI data-center spending can continue supporting earnings momentum.
