Gold opened September on a softer footing, trading lower alongside weaker U.S. equity index futures while showing only a limited safe-haven response to ongoing geopolitical developments.
Attention is now shifting toward Friday's U.S. labor-market report, which is likely to be the key macro catalyst of the week. The outcome remains difficult to forecast, while the market reaction may depend heavily on Gold's positioning and price structure immediately ahead of the release.
With expectations still highly sensitive to U.S. growth, inflation and interest-rate assumptions, volatility could increase significantly around the data, with sharp moves possible in either direction.
Key Levels to Watch
Support: 4,350, 4,300, and 4,250.
A sustained break below 4,200 would materially weaken the technical structure and could give sellers greater control, potentially bringing the 4,000 area back into focus.
Resistance: 4,400, 4,450, and 4,500.
The broader 4,450–4,515 zone remains the key upside barrier. A decisive breakout and consolidation above this area could improve bullish momentum and signal that buyers are regaining control.
For now, Gold remains caught between important technical levels, with Friday's U.S. employment data likely to determine whether the market develops a clearer directional trend or remains confined to a volatile consolidation range.
