Note: Regulatory status, trading conditions, and risk assessments may vary by jurisdiction. The WikiFX score reflects currently available information. • What Is Regulation and What Does It Do?

Regulation places a broker within a financial system where its identity, activities, and conduct can be checked, tracked, and constrained. In forex trading, regulation cannot guarantee profits, but it can reduce the risks associated with unclear corporate entities, untraceable fund handling, and the absence of an accountable authority when problems occur.

Higher regulator grades generally indicate that authorization is harder to obtain and maintain and that the regulator is more widely recognized by international investors. The main differences include:

    1. Stricter regulatory rules: Higher-grade regulators generally require brokers to operate under clearly defined rules rather than relying only on promotional claims made on their websites.

    2. Stronger platform oversight: A broker must continue meeting regulatory requirements after obtaining a license; obtaining authorization does not mean that subsequent operations are free from oversight.

    3. Higher application requirements: Higher-grade licenses generally impose greater requirements concerning corporate qualifications, financial resources, compliance capabilities, and operations; they cannot be obtained merely by registering a company.

    4. Greater market recognition: Leading regulators are generally more widely recognized in international financial markets, so their licenses usually provide more reference value than ordinary or offshore regulation.

Therefore, checking whether STP Trading is regulated cannot rely only on the number of licenses. The regulator grade, regulatory status, issuing authority, license number, and authorized scope must also be checked. A higher regulator grade provides stronger support for the verdict Higher Risk, while a lower grade can be used only as a basic reference.

  • How Does WikiFX Rate Regulatory Authorities?

WikiFX organizes global regulatory authorities by grade to help readers understand the relative regulatory support they may provide.

AAA: Excellent, with almost no risk and a high level of institutional creditworthiness.

AA: Very good, with limited risk and generally sound regulatory management.

A: Good, with indicators generally at a moderate level.

B: Average, offering comparatively limited investor-safety protection.

C: Weak, involving a high degree of speculation and limited additional financial protection.

--: No clear rating information is currently available, so the authority cannot be treated as strong regulatory support.

For the complete authority directory, see the WikiFX regulator list.

  • How Does WikiFX Evaluate STP Trading?

STP Trading has a WikiFX core score of 5.56/10. This score is generated according to unified standards by comprehensively evaluating data related to regulation, risk control, software, business operations, and licenses/reputation. The closer the score is to 10, the more sufficient the currently verifiable data is in providing overall support for the platform. Based on its highest regulator tier of B, this page classifies STP Trading as “Higher Risk”.

WikiFX has included more than 80,000 brokers and continuously verifies public information from regulators, license records, user risk feedback, and platform data. The score is calculated based on unified rules; it is not filled in by the broker itself, nor is it derived solely from a single piece of promotional information. Therefore, it can be used as a reference for comparing brokers’ overall conditions. However, the final assessment should still be cross-checked together with regulatory licenses, field survey information, and exposure information.

User Reviews Summary

Users reported withdrawal difficulties, including requests that were not processed, only partial withdrawals being allowed, and deposits or initial funds that could not be withdrawn. Several reviews described missing account balances, dashboard activity, or trades; blocked accounts; withheld profits; unexplained deductions; swap charges; and unresponsive or unresolved support. Some users also alleged that profits were removed or that account violations were cited after trading, while an IB reported commission credited incorrectly and support not resolving the issue. Some reviews described the broker as irresponsible, raised concerns about regulation, and warned others to be careful. Other feedback was more mixed or positive. Some users mentioned responsive live chat or decent support, instant deposits, a wide range of instruments across commodities, indices, currencies, and crypto, 24/7 customer service, diverse account types including Islamic accounts, and funding via Visa, MasterCard, Ethereum, or Bitcoin. One review said an anti-margin call service helped, though it was only executed once after two requests. Some reviews also noted that regulation remained a concern. The information above summarizes user-submitted reviews currently collected by WikiFX. These reports have not necessarily been independently verified and should not be used alone to determine whether a broker is safe.

Do not deposit with this broker. Factual account below, backed by screenshots, video evidence, and every email exchange. Immediately after registering, I was contacted on WhatsApp by "Merry" — no discernible real identity behind the account. When I asked 15 direct questions about ownership and company structure, the response was: "The questions you asked are not the kind of questions that any broker would give you completely honest answers to. However, if your concern is about trust, we can arrange a transparent meeting and have an open, friendly discussion with each other." A broker openly refusing to answer basic ownership questions. I deposited $250 to test the platform. Over two days of calm-market trading, no news events, more than 30% of my closing orders were rejected — not opening orders, closing orders. You can enter freely. Getting out is a different story. When I requested full withdrawal: "Dear Trader, due to your transactions which are against general trading rules and according to international trading rules, we are unable to provide services to you and you will only be allowed to withdraw the origin amount of your funds. Obviously, if you change your trading method, we will continue cooperating with you." No trade IDs, no specifics. The next day, all profits were gone plus an unexplained $37.92 deducted from my own deposit. When pressed, they escalated to "Arbitrage" and "High-Frequency Trading" accusations: "Dear Diogo, Due to the identified account violations, you are only permitted to withdraw the original amount of funds you deposited. However, as a gesture of goodwill, we are also willing to refund the total commission amount spent on your account." Facts that expose this as fabricated: across all 142 trades, average trade duration was 2 minutes. Not one trade was held under 1 minute. No arbitrage, no HFT — only a broker rejecting closes, keeping profits, and inventing a violation after the fact. Current balance: $211 against a $250 deposit. On top of confiscating 100% of profits, part of my own principal was withheld with no itemized explanation. STP Trading Ltd is registered in Saint Lucia — no regulator oversight. The Dubai office is a facade, not a license. Full documentation available: video, screenshots, emails. Consider yourself warned before depositing here.

Frequently Asked Questions About STP Trading

  • What should I consider when choosing an online broker like STP Trading?

When choosing STP Trading, give priority to the available risk information. Current data gives STP Trading a verdict of Higher Risk, indicating material limitations in regulatory support, scoring performance, or risk records. Do not deposit funds based only on advertising, social-media recommendations, or positive reviews; first check negative exposure records, regulatory licenses, and withdrawal rules.

  • How can I tell whether STP Trading is regulated?

STP Trading currently displays regulatory information, but a highest regulator grade of B should not be interpreted as strong regulation. Check whether each license status is current, whether its regulatory scope covers the actual business, and whether the licensed company matches the entity shown in the account-opening process.

  • Does investor protection compensate normal trading losses?

No. Investor protection generally concerns matters such as client-fund segregation, institutional insolvency, or improper handling under specific regulatory rules. It does not compensate normal trading losses and may not apply to every account entity or account-opening region.

  • What should I consider when choosing a safe online broker?

  • How can I check whether a broker website is genuine?
