Rupee Flat Despite Oil Slump as Importers Rush to Hedge
The Indian rupee closed at 95.3375 per US dollar on Monday, barely changed from the previous close of 95.38, as heavy dollar buying by importers and state-run banks erased early gains driven by falling oil prices. Brent crude slumped after President Trump called off an attack on Iran, with US-Iran talks scheduled. Attention now turns to the RBI policy decision on Wednesday.
