Purpose

The foreign exchange market of Hong Kong, China, is a mature and internationalized forex market that developed in the 1970s. As an important global offshore financial hub, it has distinctive features such as a sound regulatory system, a high degree of freedom in cross-border capital flows, and services radiating globally. It is a core base for many forex brokers expanding their Asia-Pacific business. To help investors more comprehensively assess the actual operating conditions of forex brokers in the region, the on-site inspection team traveled to Hong Kong, China for an on-site visit.

Process

In this issue, the field inspection team went to Hong Kong, China as planned to conduct an on-site visit to forex broker DAKIN. Based on publicly available information showing its office address, the team carried out on-site verification of broker DAKIN, which claims to be located at Suite 3509 35/F Tower Two Lippo Centre, No 89 Queensway, Hong Kong.

The team successfully arrived at Lippo Centre Tower 2, which is located in the core financial district of Admiralty, Hong Kong, surrounded by multiple Grade A office buildings and business support facilities, with a very strong commercial atmosphere. The team also fully photographed and recorded a panoramic view of the building.

After searching the entire exterior of the building, no company signage or related public information bearing the wording DAKIN was found.

The team entered the ground-floor lobby of the building, stated their purpose to the security guard, and after registering their information and communicating, successfully obtained permission to enter the building.

After arriving at the target 35th floor, the team checked the office area corresponding to Suite 3509 one by one. Throughout the process, no obvious signage related to DAKIN was found, and the floor directory boards in the building did not indicate any relevant information about this broker at all.

Because the company's actual identity could not be confirmed, and without an advance appointment it was impossible to enter the corresponding office area, the team did not photograph the broker's reception desk or reception desk logo throughout the process. It was confirmed that the office space corresponding to this address is not a shared office.

When the team tried to communicate to learn about the internal situation, they were politely declined by staff and could not enter the premises to inspect the internal environment. The overall on-site situation was completely inconsistent with the broker's claim that it has an office at this location.

After multiple on-site verifications, it was confirmed that the actual business operation site of the broker DAKIN does not exist at this address at all. After inquiring with the building security on site, a clear answer was obtained: no company named DAKIN has ever moved into the building. This is fully consistent with the impression gained from the field visit: after arriving, the address was confirmed, but no information about the broker was found, and it was judged that the office address publicly listed by the broker here is false information.

Therefore, after the on-site inspection, it was confirmed that the broker DAKIN does not exist at the above address.

Conclusion

The on-site inspectors went to Hong Kong, China as planned to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker DAKIN. At the publicly displayed business address, they were unable to see any relevant information such as the company name of the broker, indicating that the broker does not have a real business premises. Investors are advised to make their choice after comprehensive consideration.
