    Analysis of CFTC’s Latest COT Report

    Abstract:A report released by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on Monday (January 6th, 2020) showed that as of the week from December 25th to December 31st,2019, speculative net longs in US dollars decreased by 1,177 to 12,054 contracts, indicating that investors have become less bullish on the US dollar.

      A report released by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on Monday (January 6th, 2020) showed that as of the week from December 25th to December 31st,2019, speculative net longs in US dollars decreased by 1,177 to 12,054 contracts, indicating that investors have become less bullish on the US dollar.

      Speculative net shorts of yen held by speculators decreased by 8,240 to 25,302 contracts, indicating that investors are now less bearish over yen. Meanwhile, bullish bets on gold is heating up, and the speculative net long of gold has increased by 22,273 to 327,925 contracts, indicating that investors optimism on gold has surged.
