    The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is a financial regulatory body in the United Kingdom, but operates independently of the UK Government, and is financed by charging fees to members of the financial services industry. On 19 December 2012, the Financial Services Act 2012 received royal assent, and it came into force on 1 April 2013. The Act created a new regulatory framework for financial services and abolished the Financial Services Authority. The FCA regulates financial firms providing services to consumers and maintains the integrity of the financial markets in the United Kingdom. It focuses on the regulation of conduct by both retail and wholesale financial services firms.

    The Dubai Funancial Service Authority (DFSA) isthe indepentent regulator of financial services conducted in or from the DIFC, a purpose-built financial free zone in Dubai, UAE.The DFSA’s regulatory mandate includes asset management, banking and credit services, securities, collective investment funds, custody and trust services, commodities futures trading, Islamic finance, insurance, an international equities exchange, and an international commodities derivatives exchange. In addition to regulating financial and ancillary services, the DFSA is responsible for supervising and enforcing anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) requirements applicable in the DIFC. The DFSA has also accepted a delegation of powers from the DIFC Registrar of Companies (RoC) to investigate the affairs of DIFC companies and partnerships where a material breach of DIFC Companies Law is suspected and to pursue enforcement remedies available to the Registrar.

            Basic information & regulation of Swissquote

            In 1990, Marvel Communications SA was founded, specializing in financial software and web applications, a business that was the forerunner of Swissquote, the first financial platform launched in 1996, which provided free access to the prices of all securities on the Swiss stock exchange. To date, Swissquote.ch is visited 2 million times a month. 2000 saw the listing of Swissquote shares (SQN) on the Swiss Sixth Stock Exchange. 2001 saw Swissquote enter the Swiss Stock Exchange and the US NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX exchanges, while in 2010, Swissquote acquired Advanced Currency Markets (ACM). Swissquote Ltd was established in London, merging the divisions of MIG Bank and introducing FX online services to all markets in the EU. In 2017 Swissquote became the first broker to offer five cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ether, Litecoin, and Ripple). Swissquote Ltd is licensed by a number of regulatory bodies such as the FCA (Licence No. 562170), the MFSA (Licence No. C57936), the Swiss Financial Markets Authority (FINMA) and the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) for retail foreign exchange (Licence No. F001438).

            To meet the investment needs and trading experience of different investors, Swissquote offers three different types of accounts (with a minimum opening amount of $1,000): Premium (with a minimum opening amount of $5,000), Prime, and Elite (with a minimum opening amount of $10,000). The base currencies for these four types of accounts are EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, with the Prime account being the most popular.

            The spreads on Swissquote's Premium accounts start at 1.3 pips, and there is no commission for Forex trading. The spreads on the Premier account start from 0.6 pips, and no commissions are paid on Forex trading.
